Niche London String Quartet has had such a busy period at the start of the year that our musicians haven’t even had chance to update our blog for a long time!

Our string quartet musicians have travelled around London playing for weddings at fabulous venues like Hawksmoor in the city, One Great George Street,  Richmond Hill Hotel, and Hampton Court House to name a few.  We also traveled outside London to Buckinghamshire to play at the very picturesque Woburn Abbey and gorgeous Newland Manor and visited Beaumont House in the sunshine in Surrey! Of course we mustn’t forget to mention the beautiful 80th birthday party the string quartet played for in the wonderful surroundings of Claridges where the guests enjoyed our classical music  and treated the musicians they hired to a round of applause!

We have many things to look forward to in the next couple of months and summer – first of all releasing our videos and recordings from our film shoot day at Stationers Hall at the beginning of May and of course all the fantastic bookings for events, Summer weddings, concerts and corporate parties that have chosen Niche London String Quartet to entertain the guests!

The quartet have just come back from playing at a lovely wedding ceremony and reception at One Great George Street in the heart of Westminster this weekend…we’ll tell you more about that later, their special request and how their guests were thrilled…but here is a bit of a throwback post showing why we love playing at weddings so much!

Niche London String Quartet and Trio received a lovely message from one of our happy brides (and new Mrs!) – we created an arrangement of The Cure’s Just Like Heaven to be played during the ceremony, as the happy couple were becoming officially Man and Wife. It was a beautiful wedding with beautiful string wedding music to match in the University Women’s Club Library, Mayfair.

“I just wanted to say we were absolutely blown away by you guys during our ceremony and could not be happier with the music. The Cure arrangement was so beautiful and special to us, thank you.”

We really enjoy playing for weddings, but hearing back from our clients and knowing that we made their day really is the best feeling!

May has been so incredibly busy – just this week Niche – The London String Quartet have been travelling all across London to provide entertainment for corporate parties, champagne receptions, and weddings! We have also been putting together all the special requests of music for our June bookings.

Mid-week Niche Quartet travelled to the city to provide musical entertainment for ITG’s office party. Niche entertained guests throughout the 3hr party with a mix of classical and popular music. Everybody was having a great time!

We also went to The Chelsea Flower Show to provide music for corporate events at the stunning Great Hall the Royal Hospital Chelsea. We provided an energy filled performance of classical music for the first half of the champagne reception to welcome guests to the luxurious surroundings. Then for the 2nd half we performed a mixture of jazz, film music and of course our favourite chart hits as guests enjoyed canapés. Once again lovely guests took the time to come and thank us and say how much they enjoyed the music as they headed home after a great evening!

Last weekend Niche London Quartet visited the gorgeous countryside wedding venue Gaynes Park Barns to play wedding music for a wedding reception with a view. The bride had provided us with the list of songs she wanted to hear from our repertoire list and we went to work thrilling and entertaining her guests in the sunshine. We finished with our Queen Medley and some lovely guests came over to say they thought we were fabulous and amazing 🙂

We have been having a great time providing entertainment for corporate events and weddings across London venues and are looking forward to all the wedding music and event entertainment we are providing in June – our busiest month yet!

Niche London String Quartet has been so busy these past 3 months, not only playing for weddings, parties and the hugely exciting NHS Awards Ceremony (More on that below!) but also preparing for a big list of spring and summer booking by writing and rehearsing all the new music requests!

At the end of February Niche – The London String Quartet travelled to the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre to provide the London entertainment for the NHS Awards and the NHS Leadership Academy. For this evening the string quartet were providing our special amplified musical performance for corporate entertainment and were plugged into the ballroom room holding the champagne reception and the gorgeous star filled hall for dinner so the whole venue was filled with music and an atmosphere of anticipation from the very beginning.  

As more than 500 guests filled the venue they stopped to take photos with Niche London Quartet and also to make some special requests. The mood was electric and Niche Quartet kept the energy going all evening with performances of the latest chart hits and classical favourites. Just before the awards ceremony was due to start, as the string quartet’s big finish, Niche played “We are the Champions” and the excited guests filled the room with applause which set the scene perfectly for the award winners to be announced!

These past months we have added lots of new modern wedding songs like Bruno Mars ‘Just The Way You Are’, which was written as the special request for Niche String Trio’s performance at Warren House in March. Niche played for 2.5hrs at the intimate and lovely wedding reception on a beautiful sunny day in Surrey. The children and guests were thrilled with the bride’s choice of mainly modern wedding songs with some classical favourites mixed in. By the end of the wedding reception the guests and all the children were dancing away and making requests for their favourite songs to be played. A throughly enjoyable performance for us.

2013 truly was a wonderful year for Niche London String Quartet in and outside of London! We played at so many wonderful wedding venues, providing music for ceremonies, receptions and wedding breakfasts. For some weddings we worked as the full quartet or we performed as our equally popular string trio option. We also enjoyed providing entertainment for many corporate events and launch parties in stunning london venues across town!

It has been a busy summer for Niche String Quartet and Trio with lots of different corporate clients hiring us to entertain at their exciting corporate events! We are currently looking forward to the Corporate Christmas Entertainment we are providing for those fun Christmas Events in December!

Some performances were at venues with fantastic views such as the Berkley Homes’ One Tower Bridge launch at the top of City Hall where Niche Quartet played 3 hours of classical repertoire to entertain guests as they perused the luxury flat plans and enjoyed the sunset across the river. We had quite a few guests come to us and make requests and it was such a joy to thrill them with their favourite pieces by Mozart and Handel!

After the event Rebecca wrote,

 Thank you for helping to deliver a beautiful evening last night.  We would certainly book you again if strings were required.  Your music received many compliments and a few request I understand!  Well done to all of you!”

Another wonderful corporate event towards the end of summer was at one of Niche London Trio’s favourite venues, Haberdashers’ Hall. Niche String Trio took over the entertainment for the corporate dinner after Kimberley had provided entertainment as a solo pianist during the reception. Niche played a mix of our upbeat modern and classical favourites to entertain the diners and help them celebrate the amazing milestone of 100 billion transactions in between the speeches. At the end of our performance we received so many compliments and thanks from the guests we were blushing! So lovely to know everyone appreciated and enjoyed our work!
