Niche Wedding Music in London

Niche London String Quartet played for a wonderful ceremony and champagne reception in the heart of Mayfair last weekend. We really enjoyed the decor, atmosphere and grandeur of The Savile Club! The string quartet also enjoyed the wedding music choices for the ceremony:

Traditional Bridal Chorus for the entrance of the bride,

The couple’s beautiful request we specially wrote and learned for them, Amie by Damien Rice,

and the super upbeat Marry You for their exit as new Mr&Mrs.

Niche London String Quartet at The Savile Club

Huge congratulations to our Mr&Mrs this week – and once again thanks to ALL our Niche newlyweds this year!

Starting December with beautiful Winter Wedding Music

Yesterday was our first December wedding and Niche – The London String Quartet travelled out across the frosty fields of Essex to provide wedding music for a beautiful countryside wedding.

The venue was the lovely Maidens Barn and Niche had arranged and rehearsed plenty of new wedding music requests for the happy couple to enjoy. The String Quartet was hired for 3hrs to entertain guests with our modern music selections during the reception in the marque and then to move to the hall where dinner would be served and provide a different set of classical and Christmas songs. The important request was that the five songs that we had written specially for the brides were to be played when they were around to enjoy them with their guests and children – this was made possible by our large and varied experience of wedding entertainment and of course the careful timing of our flexible setlists.

All of Niche were excited for this to be the first outing of some of our latest Christmas songs, ‘Winter Wonderland’ and ‘Let it Snow’ and also to play old traditional favourites such as ‘Deck the Halls’. Our arrangement and performance of Kirsty’s favourite song Iris finished to applaud by the guests and people were tapping their toes and children dancing as we played the special romantic wedding song requests One Day Like This, If Your Not the One, Only Girl in the World, All My Life, and You Give Me Something. It was a beautiful wedding with a high level of fun and Niche were happy to add something extra special to the joyous atmosphere! Kirsty and Naomi were even kind enough to quickly come out to say that our performance was everything they’d dreamed of as we finished our set, which to Niche means it was a complete success.

Congratulations Kirsty and Naomi!

Niche London String Quartet play for Sassi Holford’s Couture Wedding Launch

At the very end of September Niche – The London String Quartet were asked to entertain guests with all our wedding music favourites at the Sassi Holford 2013 Couture Bridal Collection launch! This event was particularly special as it lead to us being nominated for...

The London String Quartet – Weddings out in the Countryside!

Throughout the summer Niche – The London String Quartet have been busy travelling here, there and everywhere to play for gorgeous weddings out in the British countryside! The past two August weddings were perfect examples of why it is worth considering travelling out to the sticks to hold your wedding.

Herts Wedding String QuartetOn the hottest day of the year Niche were playing wedding music in a beautiful church and wedding venue in Hertfordshire. This wedding was the perfect example of a musical mix with the bride and groom choosing wedding quartet music from our repertoire that was classical, from musicals, jazz based and popular. After they had taken their vows and their first kiss as man and wife they moved to go sign the register – for this we played our unique Beatles Medley which aptly starts with those famous ‘Love, love, love’ chords everyone in the world must recognise! Their aim was to create an atmosphere of joy and triumph through the music – perfectlyΒ epitomisedΒ by their exit to Handel’s famous Water Music to smiles and cheers.

Newick Park wedding quartetThe weekend just gone we travelled out into the green fields for the Sussex wedding of Chris and Marty based at the regal Newick Park. For the fashionable and stylish wedding this London string quartet played classical music punctuated by the famous Queen of Sheba as Marty arrived by horse-carriage. Niche quartet then relocated indoors to play the grooms’ special request Sweet Disposition – arranged by ourselves for their big entrance. The ceremony was beautiful with personal poems written by friends and small highly personal speeches passed between the happy couple. With their vows complete we played Marry You as they signed the register to make their vows official and then Paradise as they left the room to cheers.

We then moved to play popular music as the drinks reception commenced and the guests enjoyed the delightful fairground on the lawn. It was good to the see the guests enjoying our renditions of Adele and Coldplay as they sang and danced along! It was a perfect wedding and the such a delight to see the happy couple enjoying themselves so much on their unforgettable wedding day.
